Bexley College is just over 100 years old, having been originally called the Erith College of Technology. It moved to its last site in Belvedere in the mid-1960s and has recently moved again to a new £20m campus in Erith, providing education for 3000 students.
‘The overall look of the new college was extremely important from the offset, Martin Peat, Vice Principal of Finance and Resources explains, ‘The new building has been designed for modern learning and teaching and has all new facilities. The finish quality of the decoration is also important as the College provides a professional facility in keeping with modern environments.
‘The college washrooms needed to be of a modern, stylish and high quality to match the rest of the finished building.’
Martin chose Bushboard’s Profiles toilet cubicle range, a robust and hardwearing system which features individual headrails for style and durability. The cubicles and ducting were chosen in Bushboard’s Welsh Slate and Metallique with semi-recessed vanity units in Storm and Welsh Slate.
‘Bushboard were chosen on quality, reputation, value and the ability to meet the timeline for the construction. Low maintenance and fairly robust washrooms are essential to a college as 800 people on site each day will be using the facilities. It is important that the quality products can stand up to frequent use and be easily cleaned.’
The new washrooms have wowed, ‘Students and staff appreciate the quality and overall design, layout and equipment used in the washrooms and they have helped to maintain that standard as they are proud of the new college building.
‘We would have no hesitation in recommending Bushboard and have been very pleased with the facilities provided.’
