New sports club facilities for Fernie Fields

Fernie Fields Sports Club facilities have steadily grown in size over the past 30 years, making improvements to the ground, floodlights, stand, Clubhouse and most recently the Community Pavilion. Stephen Tebbutt - Trustee Vice Chairman and Project Manager explained, “In this last year we have made major changes by building a new Community Pavilion and a new entrance to the Clubhouse with state-of-the-art washrooms."

Stephen added, “The primary reason for the washroom renovation to the Clubhouse was to enable us to extend the changing rooms to the current football requirements”.

Bushboard Washrooms worked closely with Stephen to deliver a high-end washroom finish in the new Sports Club facilities. Stephen chose Bushboard’s Definition contemporary flush-fronted toilet cubicle range in Sage Green, “We chose the Definition toilet cubicle range because we wanted to create a wow-factor."

Manufactured from Solid Grade Laminate it was important to Stephen to ensure the toilet cubicles and vanities are durable. Supplied to the club as Ready Plumbed Modules meaning the sanitaryware and brassware were pre-fitted onto the panels in our factory and arrived on site ready to be installed – saving both time and money. Stephen explained, “We chose the sanitaryware to be pre-plumbed and we definitely think this was the right choice to speed up the operation on a tight deadline”.

Bushboard Washrooms also supplied their Baseline toilet cubicle range for the new Community Pavilion, a purpose-built function room for the Sport4Fitness Charity to provide a function room for children and adults with disabilities and special needs.

The sports clubs facilities and function room have been well received. Stephen commented, “We have definitely had a great reaction from our members and visitors alike. It is very important that a sports club has a high standard in washrooms. Our first users have likened them to entering a 5-star hotel.”
