Commercial Washroom Refurbishment at New Forest Enterprise Centre
The New Forest Enterprise Centre in Totton, Southampton is a hub for local small businesses, providing 52 flexible units available on short-term licenses. As a non-profit organisation, the centre reinvests revenue to enhance facilities and improve the experience for licensees.
To support this mission, Brazier Interior Systems Ltd was commissioned to deliver a complete commercial washroom refurbishment, upgrading three toilet facilities across the site, including the ‘main block’ area with integrated shower facilities. The existing washrooms were over 25 years old in an outdated, poor condition, prompting the client to seek a modern, hotel-style finish that would elevate the user experience.
Collaborative Approach to Commercial Washroom Design
Brazier Interior Systems partnered with trusted suppliers to achieve the project vision. Having previously worked with Bushboard Washrooms, Brazier once again selected them to provide the complete commercial washroom package. Johnson Tiles were also specified to complement the interior scheme.
All other aspects — from ceilings and floors to lighting and ventilation — were delivered in-house by Brazier’s design and installation teams, ensuring a seamless refurbishment process.
Definition Toilet Cubicles for a Premium Finish
At the heart of the refurbishment were toilet cubicles from Bushboard’s Definition Range. Featuring tall, flush-fronted doors and high-quality stainless steel fixtures, the range was chosen for its ability to create a hotel-inspired aesthetic.
- HPL Toilet Cubicles were installed for durability in high-traffic areas.
- SGL Shower Cubicles were selected for wet environments, offering waterproof performance without compromising design.
The Definition range allowed for a consistent design language across all facilities, elevating all washroom areas beyond standard cubicles into a refined, contemporary setting.
Solid Surface Vanity Units with Integrated Basins
The project also specified solid surface vanity units in a countertop design, featuring seamlessly integrated basins. This solution combines style with practicality, offering a premium appearance that is easy to clean and maintain in busy commercial settings.
To reduce installation time, the underpanels were provided as Ready Plumbed Modules (RPM), with basins pre-mounted before delivery to site. This ensured both efficiency and quality control during installation.
IPS Panels with Ready Plumbed Modules
To maintain a cohesive finish across the washrooms, IPS duct panels were also supplied as Ready Plumbed Modules (RPM). These arrived pre-assembled with Bushboard’s own brand SanCeram sanitaryware mounted to panels on a steel frame, helping to speed up installation. The finished result achieved a consistent, factory-quality appearance across the toilet and shower areas.
Commercial Washroom Colour Scheme
The colour palette was selected following consultation between Brazier and the client:
- Toilet and Shower Cubicles: American Walnut laminate
- IPS Panels: American Walnut and Slate Grey laminate
- Vanity Units: Natural Grey solid surface countertops with American Walnut and Slate Grey laminate underpanels
This combination of rich woodgrain tones and modern greys, paired with Johnson Tiles, created a cohesive and high-end aesthetic throughout the refurbished commercial washrooms.
User Reaction and Client Feedback
The refurbished washrooms have transformed the New Forest Enterprise Centre. Roy Weeks-Martin, Managing Director Brazier Interior Systems Ltd, told us the client has responded with overwhelmingly positive feedback, with one remarking the facilities are “like a 5-star hotel.”
