Severne Primary School, located in southeast Birmingham, strives to be at the heart of the community by fostering positive relationships with both children and families, creating a safe, friendly and supportive environment. The dedicated staff are fully committed to ensuring every individual is respected, valued, and nurtured.

The school sought to refurbish their tired and damaged school washrooms to provide a brighter, more inspiring environment for their students. Zac Grant, Estimator at Zone Cee, met with the school to understand their specific requirements. Following this consultation, Zac turned to Bushboard Washrooms, who offered expert guidance and developed a cohesive specification to meet the school’s needs.

Bushboard Washrooms supplied their Profiles toilet cubicle system, a highly flexible solution that can be customised with either shaped toilet cubicle doors or standard height doors. For this project, Severne Primary School opted for standard height toilet cubicle doors to prioritise student privacy. The Profiles range also features anti-finger trap hinges and emergency release locks with grooved red and white indicators, all designed to ensure the safety of children using the washroom. The primary school toilet cubicles were supplied in Solid Grade Laminate (SGL), which is fully waterproof and impact resistant. Combined with durable fixtures and fittings, these washrooms are built to withstand heavy use. The school selected a bright and inviting colour scheme from Bushboard’s 34 standard laminate options, choosing Mint Green doors with Turquoise pilasters and partitions to achieve the cheerful look they desired.

The vanity units were another key area in need of improvement, as the old access panels had become a hazard. Bushboard supplied their Ezeevanity unit in matching Turqouise and Mint Green SGL to complement the toilet cubicles. The Ezeevanity system is designed for easy installation, using simple brackets that remove the need for on-site timber framing, helping to speed up the process. With the project timeline requiring completion over the summer holidays, ensuring a swift installation was crucial to have the school washrooms ready for the new term in September.

Zac Grant mentioned that, after trialling several toilet cubicle suppliers over the years, Zone Cee now works exclusively with Bushboard Washrooms, citing that the range of systems, quality and value for money is unmatched. He added, “as always, the washroom installation was seamless” and praised the professional and friendly service throughout. Special commendations Chloe, Bushboard’s Business Development Manager, for her helpful guidance, and to Thomas, who was patient and accommodating during the CAD stage.

Overall, the school was thrilled with their new washrooms, made possible through the collaboration between Bushboard and Zone Cee. The new primary school toilets now allow the children to use the facilities independently and safely.
