Is there an NBS specification template for washrooms?

All of our products have an NBS specification template, however, the quickest and easiest way to create an NBS spec is to use our Washroom Specification Tool.

What are your standard heights?

All of our toilet cubicles are bespoke, made to measure (excluding Fastrack).

The standard overall height of our cubicles is 2000mm – this is measured from floor to top of the partition.

Our Manhattan, Definition, Paraline, Aero and HiZone toilet cubicles all have bespoke height floor to ceiling options.

Our education cubicles Tiny Stuff and Kids Stuff are lower heights as standard.

What is a standard floor clearance?

The floor clearance refers to the space between the bottom of the partition and the floor.

Depending on cubicle range, floor clearance can vary between 0mm (when a privacy skirting is used) to 150mm.

What is a privacy skirting?

Our privacy skirting is a powder coated channel that runs between the bottom of the partition and the floor, adding extra privacy in between cubicles.

Privacy skirting comes as standard on our Manhattan and HiZone cubicles and can be added to both Quadro and Tough Stuff.

What material is needed for shower cubicles?

Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) is needed for shower cubicles. SGL is totally impervious to liquid and suitable for the most environments where strength and/or water resistance are needed. Read more.

What material are your benches made from?

Our benches are avaliable in three options;

  • 13mm SGL
  • 13mm Solid SGL with Slots
  • 32mm Hardwood (Beech)

What are the panel fixing options for IPS panels?

Panels are available with push fit, lift off or hinged and lockable fixings.

What areas can SGL be used for?

SGL is the perfect specification for very highly used areas such as airports and service stations which may be subjected to not only accidental damage but also potential deliberate misuse such as vandalism which could occur in places such as secondary schools. Read more.

What areas can HPL be used for?

High Pressure Laminate or HPL is the perfect specification for areas which are reasonably heavily used and may be subjected to accidental knocks and bangs, such as a primary school. Read more.

What areas can MFC be used for?

Melamine Faced Chipboard or MFC is the perfect material to specify in a dry area where the product will be reasonably well looked after and the cleaning regime is controlled – such as an office. Read more.

What areas can veneer be used for?

From a functionality point of view, when specifying real wood veneer, you should consider it to be suitable in a similar environment to those that MFC would be suitable for.

It’s only suitable for dry areas where the users will typically treat it well, it won’t be subjected to lots of accidental knocks and bangs, certainly won’t be subjected to deliberate damage and the cleaning regime will be well controlled.

What is Solid Grade Laminate?

SGL is a 13mm thick board created from hundreds of layers of craft paper impregnated with phenolic resin, compressed together to create a high density material. 1400kg/m² impervious to liquid, suitable for the most demanding environments where strength and/or water resistance are needed. What is High Pressure Laminate?

High Pressure Laminate or HPL is sheets of 1mm laminate bonded to an 18mm thick, 680kg/m² density moisture resistant chipboard core. The laminate sheet makes HPL highly impact resistant. Panels are supplied square edged with matching 1mm PVC lipping or with postformed vertical edges. Read more.

What is Melamine Faced Chipboard?

High performance Melamine Faced Chipboard 650kg/m² density, moisture resistant chipboard core with a melamine face. MFC has a finished panel thickness of 18mm and is supplied square edged with a matching 1mm PVC lipping. Read more.

What is solid surface?

Solid surface is manufactured from an advanced composition of minerals and acrylic polymer that delivers a seamless finish to vanity tops and is exceptionally hardwearing.

What is veneer?

Real wood veneer is leaves of real wood laid on top of an MDF core. There is a huge variety of tree species to choose from, you can then specify crown cut or straight grain which is determined by the way the log is cut and also the finish such as a wax or lacquer. Basically, the world is your oyster when specifying a veneer.

What veneers do you offer?

As standard, Bushboard offer a range of 11 real wood veneers. Our real wood veneers are created using advanced techniques which achieve incredible consistency of colour and grain. Our veneers are produced from only eco-responsible and sustainable forests.

Manhattan, Paraline and Aero toilet cubicles are all available in real wood veneers.

What colour options do I have for cubicles?

Most cubicles have 34 laminate colour options.

Kids cubicles have an additional 3 laminate prints (HPL only).

Manhattan and Definition are both available in ColourCoat.

Manhattan, Paraline and Aero are available in real wood veneer.

What are the delivery times?

Our delivery options are designed to offer complete flexibility across our washroom ranges

All of our panels are manufactured to your specific site dimensions and full CAD drawings are supplied with delivery.

4 week delivery – with drawings for approval

3 week delivery – without drawings for approval

Can I order your products outside of the UK?

Bushboard products can be delivered anywhere in the world.

Our dedicated International division is widely experienced in the specification and logistics of managing overseas washroom projects – large and small.

What material is Fastrack available in?

Fastrack is our off-the-shelf 48hour washroom system.

Fastrack cubicles and duct panels are available in MFC only.

Fastrack vanity units come with a HPL top and MFC underpanels.

What colours is Fastrack available in?

Fastrack cubicles come with dark grey fittings and cubicles, vanities and ducting all come with 6 colour options.

Do you provide installation for your washrooms?

Bushboard are a supply only company, however with our Preferred Installer Programme we can put you in touch with contractors and installers in your area who are completely familiar with the Bushboard product range.

Our Preferred Installer Training Programme ensures our UK wide network of installers are fully trained in our product range and can provide you with a first class service, meaning less hassle for you and often faster installation.

What are LRV values?

LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value which is a number given to every colour.

The Building Regulations 2000 states:

Contrast visually, when used to indicate the visual perception of one element of the building, or fitting within the building, against another means that the different in light reflectance value between the two surfaces is greater than 30 points. [Approved Document M page 16]
